THOUGHTS
What am I seeing this Week: The 4 stages of a first time SDR Manager

Beginner: Have an individual contributor mindset

Intermediate: Feel you still have to do everything, all at once

Advanced: Pass the first two stages and still have imposter syndrome that you do not belong

INTERVIEW
Five Questions of the Week: Neil Lightfoot

This week, the newsletter is excited to be joined by long-time SDR Leaders of EMEA community member Neil Lightfoot! From debt recovery to SDR Leadership, Neil has always been a leader. Today he shares some of his experiences with us!

Thanks for speaking with the Newsletter this week Neil! Firstly, tell me a little bit about your journey? How did you end up at this point?

I have had a varied career, starting in debt recovery and eventually ending up in IT. Over the years, I have built a number of high-performing teams and really enjoy watching my team flourish and succeed in their own career goals.

What is it about your role that you love?

People—I love taking raw, energy-driven individuals and moulding them into high-performing, value-added sales professionals with a solid foundation for the future.

When did you realise that leadership was the career path you wanted to follow, and how did you make it happen?

I have been a leader since early in my career as a team leader, with some small periods of individual contribution roles. I had a great visionary leader who helped me see the potential in me and give me confidence that I could deliver and lead people to success and more importantly, have some fun along the way

Drawing on all your experiences so far, what advice would you give your younger self on their first day as a manager?

You can’t do it all yourself; not everyone responds the same way.

With AI looking to disrupt the SDR space, what do you see the role of the SDR evoloving in the next 36 months?

I think we should embrace the AI tools and allow for SDR professionals to have more engaging and meaningful conversations with ICP’s
